A Foreshadowing

The old law foreshadowed the Kingdom of God and the life and death of His son on Earth. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”                                              Galatians 3 : 24

Christ’s sacrificial death was foreshadowed in the story of Abraham and Isaac. “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.   And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.”                                                                                        Genesis 22 : 2, 3

God gave His only son so that as sinners we might have salvation.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”                                                                                                                                  John 3 : 16

How great a gift we were given! We should serve Him.

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”

2 Timothy 4 : 2
